During your pregnancy, you will be offered sources of education, help to curate your birth preferences, guidance, referrals, video chat, text, email, in-person support and your own private Client portal full of extra resources specifically you.
During your labor and birth, you and your partner will be provided physical support, emotional support, as well as being provided with evidence-based information and Advocacy guidance.
I serve and have experience of all types of birth; home, hospital, Birth Center, water birth, medicated, unmedicated, cesarean - elective and emergency, inductions, VBACs, IVF, high risk, and pre-term deliveries
To ensure that you receive the best possible care for you and your newborn baby, I will stay in close contact with you after your birth to provide telephone/email support, a postpartum visit, and answer any questions you may have and suggest avenues of research and external support. All of these services can be received in the comfort of your own home.
In addition to pregnancy care, look out for Postpartum Doula and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) Services coming soon. Subscribe to be informed as soon as these services are available.
Up to 45% of new mothers have reported experiencing birth trauma. Traumatic childbirth has ever-widening ripple effects for mothers (Beck, 2015). The few minutes or hours that a woman perceived she has been traumatized during labor and delivery can be likened to a pebble dropped into a pond resulting in ripples spreading out in the water. Some of these ripples resulting from traumatic childbirth can impact mothers’ breastfeeding experiences (Beck & Watson, 2008), the anniversary of their traumatic births (Beck, 2006), and their subsequent births (Beck & Watson, 2010).
A 2019 Study found that Trauma Debriefing offered decreased trauma symptoms, lowered risk of depression, lowered risk of stress, lowered feelings of self blame, higher confidence for future pregnancies, and a lower instance of PTSD
With this in mind, I offer Trauma Debriefing sessions. You do not have to be a current Birth Client to opt for these sessions.
